…urges FG to focus on developing the youths

A London based Non Governmental Organization, Global Peace Movement International, UK has called on Nigerians to shun the planned nationwide protest over harsh economy situation and embrace peace in the interest of the country at large.

President General of the group, Dr Mike Uyi urges Nigerian youths to invest their efforts in nation-building rather than engaging in protests, maintaining that the organisers of the planned August 1 protest do not mean well for the country.

”GPMI wishes to lend its voice to the appeal of several well-meaning Nigerians to all and sundry to let peace reign in our land at this critical time of our history”.

“While we acknowledge peaceful protests as an integral component of democratic governance, the predictable attendant violence and loss of lives and property remain undesirable”.

“The mass destruction of public and private assets during the #Endsars protest, which started as a harmless demonstration remains fresh in our memory”.

“We call upon the government to as a matter of national important implement robust measures aimed at developing the knowledge and skills of the youths”, Uyi advised.
