Matawalle lauds indigenous defence coys for their ground breaking innovations

The Minister of State for Defence. Dr Bello Matawalle, has lauded indigenous defence companies for their ground breaking innovations.

Matawalle gave the commendation in his remarks during an exhibition at the closing ceremony of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria’s (DICON) 60th Anniversary in Abuja..

He said that the indigenous defence companies’ commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to advancing the nation’s defence capabilities were truly commendable.

“Over the last few days, we witnessed an unparalleled showcase of Innovation, collaboration, and expertise emanating from Indigenous defence industry and foreign partners.

“This event has not only highlighted the progress we have made but also set the pace for a future where our nation stands resilient and self-reliant in matters of defence and security.

“I commend our indigenous defence companies and organisations whose tireless efforts and groundbreaking innovations brought this exhibition to life.

“Your commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to advancing our defence capabilities are truly commendable.”

The minister also commended President Bola Tinubu for his dogged support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and by extension the DICON.

“The President defends his title as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces by always prioritising the requirements of the Military.

“That is why one of the first bills signed into law by the President on assuming office was the DICON act, accordingly, we applaud him.

“To our international partners who have graced this event by showcasing their defence arsenal and related equipment. I am sure you have been able to garner prospective partnership and collaboration during this exhibition.

“Be assured that investing in the Nigeria’s Military Industrial Complex will be worth every penny,” Matawalle added.
