Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has announced that aerial display rehearsals are currently taking place in Abuja and Lagos ahead of its 61st Anniversary Celebration, scheduled for May 23.

In a public announcement signed on Monday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the Force informed the public—particularly residents of the two cities—that the manoeuvres are part of preparations for the anniversary’s grand finale.

“These aerial manoeuvres are designed to enhance the spectacle of the celebration’s grand finale and to demonstrate the professionalism and operational capabilities of the NAF,” the statement said.

Residents have been advised not to panic as the rehearsals are being conducted with strict safety measures in place.

“Residents are kindly advised not to panic but to go about their normal activities, as the rehearsals are carefully planned and executed with strict adherence to safety standards,” the announcement continued.

The NAF also extended its gratitude for the public’s understanding and support, adding, “The NAF appreciates your understanding and continued support.”
