Kaduna State council of NUJ honours Buratai with ICON of peace and security award

The Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has conferred the prestigious “Icon of Peace and Security in Nigeria” award upon His Excellency Amb Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd) CFR, former Chief of Army Staff. This significant recognition was presented during the NUJ Kaduna Press Week, which carried the theme: “The Role of Media in Holding Government Accountable for Good Governance: Emerging Challenges and Prospects.”

The award ceremony, held at a well-attended event, was graced by Hon Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Minister of Environment, who presented the honor to Buratai, who was represented by Rear Admiral Abdul Biu Adamu (Rtd.), OFR, Shattiman Biu. This accolade underscores Buratai’s exemplary contributions to national security and peace during his tenure as Chief of Army Staff, where his strategic leadership played a pivotal role in combating insurgency and ensuring the safety of citizens across Nigeria.
