Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has said that his administration would provide necessary support to security agencies in the state.
Addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Akure, Aiyedatiwa reassured that his administration was committed to safety of lives and properties of residents in the state.
The governor said that the security agencies were also seriously working tirelessly to ensure that the people are safe.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there has been spate of kidnapping and car theft in the state.
“The state government has been supporting them and we will add more to the support.
“We noticed that the criminals are not relenting in their efforts by trying to look for other ways to have incursion into the system.
“So we need more equipment like trackers and drones. These are some of the equipment we need to get for our security agencies and we are working on that already,” the governor said.
Aiyedatiwa, while speaking on his victory at the Supreme Court, said that it showed that the case was taken to court by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate was frivolous.
“I am so happy that we have come to the end of that particular legal battle.
“We are able to get justice from the highest court of the land.
“It was a concurrent judgment at the three levels of the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court,” he said.
Aiyedatiwa later appealed to the opposition parties in the state to join hands with him to take the state to an enviable height.
