Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has honoured his Aide-de-Camp, DSP Daniel Ndirpaya, and Escort Commander, DSP Emmanuel Habila, on Thursday in Jos, praising their exceptional services.
The ceremony followed their promotion to Deputy Superintendent of Police by the Nigerian Police Force.
The governor commended the officers for their loyalty and diligence, revealing that he first met them after taking office and making a formal request to the Nigerian Police for personnel to work with him.
“Let me say this: I did not know any of these officers before assuming office, but they were recommended to me.
“I can confidently state that I have never regretted working with them for even a single day.
“They have demonstrated exceptional devotion, loyalty, and professionalism, and I believe they are on the path to the pinnacle of their careers,” he said.
Mutfwang assured the officers of his administration’s continuous support for their professional and personal development, emphasising that opportunities for growth and training would be facilitated to enhance their capacity to serve.
He also praised security agencies operating in the state for their dedication and resilience, which he said contributed to the peaceful Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering robust collaboration with security agencies to deepen peace and security across the state.
“They have shown commitment to ensuring a secure, peaceful, and united Plateau,” he said.
Muftwang also expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police and the state Commissioner of Police for their dedication to professionalism and maintaining peace and order in the state.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police, Plateau, Emmanuel Adesina, highlighted the promotion of 103 officers across various ranks in the state.
He urged them to demonstrate greater dedication and resilience to ensure the safety of all law-abiding residents and visitors.
Adesina appreciated Mutfwang’s unwavering support for the security agencies, noting that the governor’s commitment made the decoration ceremony a colourful and memorable event.
