The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has advocated synergy among private security outfits in Edo to enhance safety and security.
The state Commandant of the corps, Mr Gbenga Agun made the call on Tuesday in Benin during a stakeholders meeting with the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Edo branch.
“We must work together to achieve our common goal of providing security and safety to the people of Edo State.
“Synergy among private security outfits is essential to sharing intelligence, coordinating responses, and providing effective security services,” he said.
Agun noted that the NSCDC was committed to fostering collaboration among private security agencies, and has initiated several initiatives to promote synergy and cooperation.
“We believe that by working together, we can achieve more than we can alone.
“We urge all private security outfits in Edo State to join us in this effort to enhance security and safety in our state,” he said .
In his address, the Chairman of the licenced private security practitioners in the state, Mr Francis Uzamere, bemoaned the low turnout of members for the association’s events, requesting the commandant’s help in reaching out to all licensed security companies in Edo.
“I believe that the commandant’s office can help them get in touch with all the licensed security companies,” the chairman said.
Uzamere noted that synergy among private security outfits was necessary to achieve its goal.
Earlier, DC Olarewaju Abdulkareem, Head of Department, Private Guards Companies (PGC) of the corps said that the meeting was meant to brainstorm on the way forward.
According to him, the meeting will help to discuss the progress of the association as well as way to improve on past successes.
