The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC(, Kaduna State Command, said it has deployed 2,100 personnel across the 23 local governments in the state for hitch-free yuletide festivities.
The state Commandant, NSCDC, Nuhu Dansadau, made the announcement in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Habeeb Badamasi in Kaduna.
He said, “The deployment was to ensure the safety and security during the upcoming Christmas and new year celebrations.
Dansadau said, “This initiative aims to maintain peace, protect critical national assets and infrastructure as well as to ensure the safety of citizens as they celebrate the festive season.
“The deployment will be effective immediately and will involve personnel from multiple units strategically positioned in areas with high public activities, including markets, parks, and major roads.”
He emphasised the importance of having a visible security presence to deter crimes and reassure the public.
“During this joyful season, our primary objective is to ensure the safety of all citizens.
“We are committed to providing a secure environment for families and friends to celebrate together.
“Our personnel are well-trained and prepared to handle any situation, ensuring that our communities can enjoy the holidays without fear.” Dansadau said.
He added that in addition to traditional policing, the personnel would engage in community outreach efforts, encouraging the citizens to report any suspicious activities.
According to him, this is to foster a sense of collaboration between the NSCDC and the community.
Dansadau urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the law enforcement officials during the period.
He also called for responsible celebration practices to ensure everyone’s safety.
