Comptrollers of Commands and border Commanders, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, has urged commanders to ensure efficient border security and migration management.
Nandap made the call at a meeting with Comptrollers of Border Commands and Commanders at the Service Headquarters in Abuja.
She underscored the significance of border security.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting is aimed at assessing border situations to guide policies and operational strategies for enhanced national security.
The NIS CG stressed the need for “extra layers” of security to prevent infiltration by criminal elements.
She instructed commanders to employ supervisory strategies, report major movements timely, and handled sensitive intelligence professionally, submitting weekly reports through approved channels.
Nandap also directed the immediate submission of reports on manpower and logistics audits, emphasising robust inter-agency collaboration for effective intelligence sharing.
She ordered the removal of unauthorised checkpoints and routine patrols to prevent dangerous elements from entering the country.
Nandap reiterated the service’s commitment to deploy e-solutions, training, and ensuring officers’ welfare.
