Iliyasu assumes duty as 24th  Kaduna Sector Commander of FRSC

Corps Commander (CC),Tijjani Iliyasu on Wednesday assumed duty as the  24th Kaduna Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC),  pledging improved road safety across the state.

Before his deployment to Kaduna, Iliyasu was the Sector Commander, Zamfara.

The new commander took over from the acting sector commander, a Deputy Corps Commander, Operations, Idris Lawal.

He also assured the public that the command was committed to improving road safety in the state.

 According to Iliyasu, the FRSC was dedicated to serving humanity and wpukdl work closely with the public, transport unions, and other security agencies to achieve its goals.

Iliyasu promised to improve the command’s performance and engage with the public to address allconcerns.

 “We are going to improve on the performance we met on theground and we will carry the people of Kaduna State along in whatever we are doing.

“The command will explain its actions to the public and ensure that they understand the reasons behind its decisions,” he vowed.

Iliyasu acknowledged that overloading and overspeeding were the major challenges facing the agency, not only in Kaduna State but across Nigeria.

He,however, assured that the command would look into these issues and devise means to address them.

He said, “We have devised a means where we will reach out to the people through advocacy visits and public enlightenment programmes so that we now stop it before it happens.

“The FRSC will work closely with the critical stakeholders, including transport unions and other security agencies to achieve its goals.”

Iliyasu emphasised that the command has been working with these stakeholders and would continue to do so.

 “We are like twin brothers because they are into transport business and we are into transport regulation business,” he said.

The new sector commander also highlighted the importance of personnel welfare, saying,  “we will recognise the people that perform exceptionally well and we will reward them.

“The command has a yearly performance evaluation system that helps to evaluate the performance of its staff.

“By prioritising personnel welfare and recognizing exceptional performance, the FRSC can ensure that its staff are motivated to deliver excellent service, “Iliyasu said.
