The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Malam Shehu Mohammed, has urged staff to maintain the momentum of 2024 productivity to enhance service delivery in 2025.
Mohammed made the call during the maiden 2025 Corps Marshal’s parade at the FRSC national headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
This was stated in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Olusegun Ogungbemide.
The FRSC boss emphasised that staff capacity development, welfare, and regular promotions would remain key priorities in his management agenda.
Reviewing the Corps’ 2024 activities, he commended management staff, commanding officers, unit heads, and all personnel for their dedication, sacrifices, and innovative contributions.
He praised their efforts in achieving success, particularly during the end-of-year special patrol, which significantly enhanced road safety.
The Corps Marshal congratulated staff for upholding the organisation’s core values, as envisioned by its founding fathers.
Despite challenges, he noted that the FRSC had remained steadfast in its commitment to public service.
Mohammed vowed to uphold service delivery standards and urged staff to help position the FRSC as a global model of a high-performance organisation.
“With your resilience and tenacity, we managed traffic challenges and ensured safer roads during the Christmas and New Year celebrations,” he stated.
“I urge you not to rest on your achievements but to strive for greater productivity this year,” he added.
He assured staff that excellence would be rewarded, while indolence and poor performance would not be tolerated.
“You must be prepared to follow instructions, demonstrate excellence, and avoid indiscipline,” he warned.
“This includes rumour-mongering, laziness, and any acts that could tarnish the Corps’ reputation,” he stated.
The Corps Marshal also extended condolences to the families of staff who lost their lives in service, praying for their peaceful repose.
He stressed the importance of health, urging staff to engage in regular fitness activities and medical check-ups.
Regarding the amendment of the FRSC Establishment Act 2007, he noted that a public hearing was conducted by the House of Representatives in 2024.
Mohammed encouraged staff to prepare for greater responsibilities in line with the expected changes.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the Corps’ founding ideals and promised to ensure all staff receive their due entitlements and recognition.
“No one will be denied their rightful benefits or proper acknowledgment for achievements in official duties,” he assured.
He urged staff with innovative ideas to share them through proper channels, as every contribution matters in advancing the Corps.
Staff who spoke after the parade expressed optimism that 2025 would be a more productive and rewarding year for all.
They also wished the Corps Marshal success in his efforts to bring positive changes to the FRSC.
