…condemn suicide attack in Gwoza
The President General, Global Peace Movement International, UK, Dr. Mike Uyi has challenged President Bola Tinubu to name, shame and prosecute the sponsors of terrorism, saying it was becoming clearer that forces of anti-democracy funding the activities of terrorists had upped their game.
He advised the Tinubu-led government not to allow itself to be blackmailed into giving in to the illegitimate demands of those out to protect and promote terrorists and their evil acts.
GPMI noted in a statement signed by Dr Mike Uyi on Monday while condemning Saturday’s attacks on the Borno town of Gwoza.
He expressed deep condolences to the victims, government and people of Borno following the recent tragic attacks in the Gwoza local government area of the state.
Uyi described the attack as cowardly and emphasised that such acts of terror have no place in a peaceful and progressive society.
“These cowardly attacks by bloodthirsty terrorists will never break the spirit of the peace-loving people of Northern Nigeria and our great nation,” he said.
Uyi urged President Bola Tinubu to as a matter of urgency ensure his administration goes after those sponsoring terrorism in the country, saying it will serve as a deterrent to criminals.
According to him, a hero makes history, is not afraid, and does not turn a blind eye. “Mr President, arrest these perpetrators now, no excuses Mr President”, he emphasised.
“GPMI therefore urge the Federal Government to ensure that the North-East did not slide back into the hands of terrorists and become the theatre of extreme violence”.
