Defence minister commiserates with Jigawa governor on mother’s death

The Minister of Defence, Mr Mohammed Badaru, has extended his heartfelt condolences to Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa, on the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar.

The Minister’s  condolence message is contained  in a statement through his Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mati Ali, on Thursday in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the governor’s mother died in the early hours of. Wednesday,  Dec. 25,  and had since been buried according to Islamic rites in the governor’s hometown of Kafin Hausa in Jigawa.

The minister  prayed for the repose of the departed and asked Almighty Allah to grant her Jannatul Firdaus.

He also prayed for divine strength and comfort for the grieving family and the Jigawa community.

“I was profoundly saddened to learn of the passing of Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar, the cherished mother of the governor of Jigawa,” he said.
