The African Network for Anticorruption (ANA) has urged the immediate suspension of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) boss over alleged embezzlement of N6 billion.
Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Monday, ANA commended the EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, for his efforts in transforming the commission and achieving notable successes.
However, the group condemned a failed protest attempt by some individuals and CSOs, allegedly sponsored by a former governor and two former ministers, aimed at undermining the EFCC’s efforts.
ANA described the protest as a threat to democracy and expressed concern over the alleged embezzlement in NSCDC, calling for a thorough investigation and the boss’s suspension pending the outcome.
