Benue Police arrest driver, native doctor for alleged theft

Benue State Police Command has arrested a driver with CHEC Construction Company, Taraku Camp and a native doctor for alleged theft.

This was contained in a statement by the Benue State Police Command Spokesperson, SP, Catherine Anene.

She said the driver was given a truck to convey stones from Ohimini LGA to Mase in Gwer-East Local Government Area for road construction but he diverted the vehicle to an unknown destination.

Anene said during an investigation, the said driver, named Aondoaver Viaga and a native doctor, one Veror Orduen were arrested in possession of the vehicle at Ikyurav, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue state.

She said the suspect was unable to give a satisfactory account of why he took the vehicle to the native doctor’s place for four days and switched off his phone.

Anene said the Benue State Commissioner of Police, Steve Yabanet has advised all criminals to desist from perpetuating crime or leave Benue State.
