Assault’ of Abuja couple: GPMI applaud Acting COAS, Olufemi Oluyede

President General, Global Peace Movement International, UK Dr Mike Uyi has commended the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for his ‘proactive’ steps in the fight against insurgency across the country.

Uyi gave this commendation in a press statement in London saying Lt. Gen. Oluyede has displayed professionalism in the discharge of his duties commending him also for being professional and transparent in handling the affairs of Nigerian armed forces.

Uyi while also commending the COAS over the decision to investigate the emergence of a viral video showing a Major General and some soldiers purportedly assaulting a couple in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) said shows that the number army chief is really focused in standardizing the military.

He noted that with the intervention COAS GPMI urge the public to be rest assured that due diligence will be applied to reach a logical conclusion on the matter.

Uyi said GPMI is proud of the achievements recorded by the Army saying, “We must acknowledge the laudable achievements in fighting terrorism, insurgency and banditry in Nigeria.
