Army inaugurates 87 regular depot recruits for training

The Commandant Depot  Nigerian Army, Maj.- Gen. Muhammad-Aminu Abdullahi, on Thursday in Zaria, inaugurated  Recruits of 87 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI) for intensive six months military training.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inauguration signifies that the recruits had formally signed-in for the training.

The commandant congratulated the recruits for being successful in the selection process, and tasked them to brace up for their military training which he described as requiring energy, endurance and performance.

“In line with your training programme, lecture pamphlets have been produced to ease your understanding. Therefore, you must take notes and participate actively in all training activities”.

He admonished the recruits to take instructions seriously at all times as Depot Nigerian Army, has competent and ready Instructors that will mold them into professional soldiers of the Nigerian Army.

The commandant said that their training would cover physical and endurance, weapon handling, basic field craft, minor tactics, Drill, Regimentation, signal communication, military law among others.

He said noted that he is aware of the challenges of the recruits which have been adequately handled, while promising to solve other challenges as they unfold.

Abdullahi admonished the Recruits to always remember that they are subject to Military and Civil laws of the land; stressing that any Recruit found wanting will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

He reminded them that they are forbidden from leaving the Barracks perimeter throughout the period of their training

NAN reports that the highpoint of the  event was the administration of oath of allegiance on the recruits to the Commander in Chief and the Nigerian Army.
