As Nigerians are on the verge to celebrate Workers’ Day, we must recognize the invaluable contributions of various professions, especially the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our nation, the Nigerian Army. While workers in various sectors demand better wages and working conditions, it’s essential to acknowledge the sacrifices of our soldiers who put their lives in harm’s way to ensure the peace, unity and sovereignty of our country Nigeria.
As we go about our daily lives, it’s easy to forget the men and women who put out their lives for our lives – ready to take a bullet for every citizen of Nigeria. The Nigerian Army has been at the forefront of maintaining peace and security, often making immense sacrifices in the process as Workers of Nation without public holiday, not for a day.
From fighting insurgency in the Northeast to tackling banditry in the Northwest, our soldiers have faced unimaginable dangers with courage and resilience. Many have lost their lives or been injured in the line of duty, leaving behind families and loved ones who mourn their sacrifice.
Despite these challenges, the Nigerian Army remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting our nation and its people. Their bravery and selflessness inspire us all, and we must never forget the sacrifices they’ve made.
The Nigerian Army plays a vital role in maintaining peace and security, tackling insurgency, banditry, and other security challenges. Their bravery and selflessness inspire us all, and we owe a debt of gratitude to these unsung heroes. By supporting the Nigerian Army, we are, in essence, supporting our nation’s stability and progress.
Again, politics aside including wailers, as a nation, we owe a debt of gratitude to our soldiers and their families. We must support them in every way possible, providing the resources and care they need to thrive in every aspect of their works.
Why this constant call of support for the Nigerian Army? Let’s not forget the Nigerian Army’s efforts ensure our safety and security, allowing us to live and work in every part of the country without fear of violence or attack.
We should not also forget that while we all hope to grow and develop as a Nation a stable and secure environment helps attracts investments, promotes economic growth, and creates opportunities for everyone of us as citizens. The Army’s presence helps protect lives and property, safeguarding our communities and preventing destruction.
Despite their crucial role, the Nigerian Army faces numerous challenges, such as insufficient funding and resources which hinder their ability to effectively tackle security challenges and defend our territorial integrity. Soldiers put their lives at risk daily, facing dangerous situations and making sacrifices every seconds for our safety.
To support the Nigerian Army, we must advocate for better funding, ensuring they receives their salary promptly and also adequate funding to perform their duties more effectively.
There is need for us to advocate for Provision of modern equipments and gadgets for our Army so that our soldiers are well equipped with modern tools and technology to enhance their operations in the theatre of war.
As we hope to celebrate Nigerian Workers on May (1st) Day there is need to show appreciation to our troops, personnel of the Nigerian Army, recognise and appreciate their sacrifices everyday, acknowledging their bravery and dedication without any break or public holiday.
Sincerely and consciously, let us take a moment as a Nation to appreciate the sacrifices of these men. May their bravery and dedication inspire everyone of us to be better citizens and to work towards a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
We must also honor the memories of heroes, those who have lost their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we will continue to support their families and loved ones.
To the Nigerian Army, on the verge of May Day we say thank you. Your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed, and we remain committed to supporting you in your mission to protect our nation.
Long live the Nigerian Army! Long live Nigeria.
