We are leveraging technology to tackle insecurity in Plateau – Mutfwang

Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau says his administration is leveraging technology to tackle the security challenges currently confronting the state.

Mutfwang said this during the New Year State-wide Broadcast on Wednesday in Jos.

The governor said that his administration had also invested in surveillance and training of locals drawn from communities, on intelligence gathering.

Mutfwang, who decried that insecurity was a major challenge confronting his administration, noted that his government had made significant efforts toward addressing the menace.

“From the moment I assumed office, peace and security have been our topmost priorities.

“In 2024, we made bold investments in technology and logistics to strengthen the surveillance and protection of our rural communities.

“Our efforts is already yielding significant results, as unprovoked and rampant attacks are steadily declining.

“However, while we have recorded progress, some communities continue to face security challenges, but let me assure you that we will not rest until enduring peace is achieved across Plateau,”he promised.

The governor, who commended the security agencies for their efforts toward addressing the menace of insecurity in the state, condoled with families who lost their loved ones in the recent attacks in the state.

Mutfwang, who also decried the spate of child trafficking in the state, promised to decisively deal with preparators of the criminal act.

The governor called on residents to support and cooperate with the government and the security agencies toward ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state(
