UK Group Urges Nigerians to Support Military’s Quest to Stamp Out Terrorism

…Pass Vote of Confidence on CDS, Christopher Musa

A United Kingdom-based group, Global Peace Movement International, has called on Nigerians to support the military’s efforts to eradicate terrorism and criminality in the country.

The group’s President General, Dr. Mike Uyi, made the appeal in a statement released on Monday in Benin, Edo State.

Dr. Uyi commended the Nigerian military for its “ruthless onslaught” on criminal elements, attributing the success to the leadership and commitment of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.

The group passed a vote of confidence in Gen. Musa, urging him to continue the laudable feat until all remnants of terrorists are decimated entirely from Nigeria.

According to him, It was observed that since his assumption, General Musa has brought his wealth of experience on the battle field to bear.

Uyi noted that his leadership has maintained a good relationship with stakeholders in the Armed Forces, especially in formulating and executing policies and programmes towards the highest attainment of national security and operational competence of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The Global Peace Movement International praised the Nigerian military for exhibiting a high sense of patriotism and commitment to restoring peace in all states.

The group noted that the military’s efforts have led to significant gains in the fight against terrorism and criminality.

The endorsement comes as a boost to the Nigerian military’s efforts to tackle insecurity and terrorism in the country.

Our correspondent reports that the military has been intensifying its operations against terrorist groups and criminal elements, leading to notable successes in recent times.

The statement read further, “GPMI is indeed appreciative of this effort and wishes to state with the way and manner the Nigerian military is executing the war against terrorism in Nigeria; it would be only a matter of time for absolute peace and tranquility to return to Nigeria.

“We encourage Nigerians to continue to extend their support to the activities of the Nigerian military in this laudable quest to restore peace and stamp out all forms of Terrorism, criminality in Nigeria Nigeria.”
