The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the app, Alerte, was unveiled during the Nexus Symposium on Saturday.
Alerte is a cutting-edge safety technology platform designed to provide real-time emergency alerts and location sharing for individuals in distress.
NAN also reports that Alerte is a cutting-edge safety technology platform designed to provide real-time emergency alerts and location sharing for individuals in distress.
Useghan, who was represented by Noah Useghan, Regional Director of Alexia Universal Limited, said the app was focused on enhancing safety through smart emergency response.
According to him, Alerte’s mission is to empower people with the tools to stay safe and receive immediate help during emergencies.
“We prioritise user privacy, rapid response and seamless integration with emergency contact.
“We provide a one-swipe emergency alert system that notifies trusted contacts when users are in danger.
“Enables location tracking for emergency response and facilitate community-based safety network where users can send alerts to nearby people.
“Ensures fast and reliable notification via push alerts instead of traditional SMS ” he said.
According to him, Alerte operates in five stages. First, the user triggers an alert by swiping on the Alerte app.
Next, emergency contacts and the help team are immediately notified, and the user’s real-time location is sent to their emergency contacts.
In the fourth and fifth stages, emergency contacts acknowledge the alert to confirm they are responding, and the user’s last known location is stored to assist responders.
Speaking at the event, Ferdinand Adimefe, founder of Magic Carpet Studio, a storytelling company in Lagos, described the symposium as timely.
Adimefe said “Alerte aims to address fundamental issues related to insecurity and emergency response time.”
He noted that many cases of death and kidnapping were preventable and could be mitigated with the right apps, technology, and tools in place.
He expressed his excitement about technology experts venturing into security-related innovations across various sectors, including agriculture, forex, storytelling, and legal services.
According to him, Alerte is focused on safety and security and is among the few technology companies pioneering innovations in the security sector.
