The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Mr Jonathan Towuru as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) to represent the South-South geopolitical zone on the Police Management Team.

Mr Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations for the PSC, confirmed the appointment in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

Ani said that prior to his appointment; Towuru had served as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 6, Calabar.

He said that Towuru, born on December 6, 1965, in Ouwodo Kpokpo Olomu Town, Ughelli South LGA of Delta State, would replace Mr Daniel Pedro, who recently retired from his position as DIG in charge of ICT.
