Operations: MODAAB express confidence on DRTS—-Spokesman

The Motor Dealers Association of Nigeria (MODAAB) has expressed confidence in the Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) for its contribution towards a seamless traffic flow in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This is contained in a statement by the Head, Public Relations and Enlightenment of the service, Mr Kalu Emetu, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Emetu said that the association made this known when its National President, Mr Adedoyin Ajibola, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Director of DRTS, Dr Abdullateef Bello.

Ajibola commended Bello for the good work he has been doing with his team, and urged him to sustain the tempo.

He said that the association’s visit was to pass a vote of confidence on the management of the directorate.

“I must confess, I’m happy with the extent the management of the directorate has digitised its operations, especially in the areas of self service, such as e-booking and e-ticketing.

“With my observation, the innovation no doubt will soon remove most of the operatives, some of whom few motorists see as enemies from the roads.

“With what I’ve seen on ground, It is understandable that there are some adjustments and reviews to be carried out.

“However, the good works of the directorate seriously outweigh the required adjustments.”

In his remarks, Bello thanked Ajibola and other members of the delegation for identifying with the directorate.

He promised a robust collaboration with the association for a better service delivery to the residents of the territory.

The director, while acknowledging the fact that motor vehicle administration was quite complex, promised to continue to do the best he could to ensure a seamless traffic flow in the territory.

“I want to use this opportunity to advise the motoring public to obey simple traffic rules and regulations for a free flow of traffic in the territory.

“I also want to use this opportunity to enjoin the residents of the territory and the motoring public to continue to be on the side of the law.”
