NSCDC AND NASTOGRN PARTNER TO REGULATE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY IN OSUN STATE

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command, Igbalawole Sotiyo received in audience, the National President and Board of Trustees Chairman of Association of Surface Tank Oil and Gas Retailers of Nigeria (NASTOGRN)

While stating the purpose of the visit, the National President of the Association, Dr. Marcus said the visit aimed to discuss collaboration against unlicensed oil and gas retailers in the state.

According to Dr. Okotete, “Our association’s primary objective is to promote grassroot participation in the oil and gas sector, creating jobs and alleviating poverty while ensuring licensed retailers maintain industry standards and safety.”

Dr. Okotete emphasized the need for partnership with NSCDC to eliminate unlicensed retailers, stating, “By working together, we can mitigate risks associated with unlicensed retailers and promote legitimate businesses.”

In his response, Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo welcomed the national executive of the Association of Surface Tank Oil And Gas Retailers of Nigeria (NASTOGRN,) to the command, he acknowledged the complexity of the oil and gas sector, attributing problems to unqualified operators.

The State Commandant therefore assured Dr. Okotete of the NSCDC’s readiness to collaborate on enforcement efforts.

“We will work together to identify and shut down illegal retailers in Osun State, enhancing safety and security while promoting economic benefits.” Commandant Sotiyo said.
