Nigerian Legion: Stop patronising imposters says commander

The Nigerian Legion, Lagos State chapter, has called on the public to stop patronising security imposters, particularly those falsely claiming to represent the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires.

Mr Akeem Wolimoh, Chairman and Deputy Commander General (DCG) of the Nigerian Legion, Lagos State, made this appeal on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos State.

Wolimoh said warning became imperative because of activities of certain individuals fraudulently parading themselves as representatives of the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires, Lagos State command.

He urged the public to refrain from entering into contractual agreements for guard services or similar engagements in the name of the Legion without proper authorisation.

“The general public is hereby advised to be cautious of such groups, which may include deviant members of the Corps, dismissed Commanders, or outright imposters.

“They should avoid conducting business with such individuals, as the Legion cannot be held responsible for any breach of contract or damages resulting from the activities of these imposters,” Wolimoh said.

He warned that continued engagement with these imposters after this public notice could be interpreted as conspiracy and a deliberate attempt to impersonate the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires.

Wolimoh advised the public to always verify the authencity of whom they were contracting through the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires’ office at Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos state command.
