Nigerian Ex-President Jonathan’s ADC, DIG Jitoboh Dies In Abuja Hospital

A former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Moses Jitoboh, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, has passed away.

He died at Garki General Hospital in Abuja on Friday, December 27, 2024, due to blood clots in his lungs.

Former Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) of FRSC Kayode Olagunju, who confirmed his death in a social media post, wrote: “We lost DIG Moses Jitoboh, rtd, mni, a friend and course mate @ the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru. Painful exit. Rest in Peace. May the Lord console your family, friends and others left behind.”

Jitoboh, who hails from Bayelsa State, had a notable career in the police force, serving as ADC to former President Goodluck Jonathan during his vice presidency from 2007 to 2010.

His career was abruptly cut short last year when he was compulsorily retired following the appointment of the current Inspector-General of Police.

Jitoboh contested his retirement in court, claiming he was forced out of the Nigeria Police Force before reaching the mandatory retirement age.

His case was pending before the National Industrial Court in Abuja at the time of his death.
