Nigerian Army Mourns the Passing of Brigadier General Saidu Tafida

The Nigerian Army is in mourning following the passing of Brigadier General Saidu Tafida, who died on 28 January 2025 after a brief illness. Until his passing, the late senior officer served as the Director of Administration at the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), where he played a key role in enhancing administrative efficiency and professional development within the institution.

Brigadier General Tafida was widely respected for his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian Army. His contributions to the service, particularly in logistics and personnel management, were instrumental in ensuring smooth operations and capacity building within the College.

Sources within the Army have confirmed that arrangements for his burial are currently ongoing, with further details to be communicated in due course. Meanwhile, tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues, subordinates, and senior officers who recall his remarkable service and professionalism.

His death is a significant loss to the Nigerian Army, especially at a time when experienced and dedicated officers are vital to the ongoing transformation of the military.
