Nigerian Army General Delivers Maiden HTU Alumni Lecture

Major-General Kamal Ishola Yusuf, Chief of Defense Accounts and Budget of the Nigerian Armed Forces, delivered the Maiden Alumni Lecture of Ho Technical University (HTU) on August 12, 2024. A proud alumnus of HTU, Major-General Yusuf, completed his certificate in Business Studies in 1984.

Sharing his inspiring journey from student to global leader, Major-General Yusuf credited HTU for instilling valuable skills and values that propelled his career. He emphasized key skills like cultural intelligence, communication, collaboration, situational awareness, accountability, discipline, decision-making, global mindset, integrity, and vision as crucial for success.

The Guest Speaker urged fellow alumni to leverage their collective strengths to promote themselves and HTU as a springboard to leadership. He called on alumni to support their alma mater, mentor students, and contribute to the institution’s growth.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga chaired the event, highlighting HTU’s evolution into a fully-fledged university, achievements, and recent developments, including centers of excellence, innovation projects, and international collaborations. He stressed the importance of alumni engagement and collaboration.

The event, which brought together alumni, faculty, students, and stakeholders, also featured the commissioning of a new Surgical Theatre at the HTU Clinic.
