Nasarawa: Police storm kidnappers’ hideout, rescue abducted travellers

Police operatives attached to the Gitata Division in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have raided a kidnappers’ hideout and rescued at least three victims.

A statement by the spokesman of the Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the rescue followed information that a Volkswagen Sharon vehicle with three occupants travelling along the Kaduna-Keffi highway was attacked, and the victims whisked away to an unknown destination

The victims include Abdulsalam Shuaibu, Sani Shuaibu and Blessing Okorie.

The statement explained that upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer in the area, SP Zaks Wambai, swiftly mobilised his men to the scene and combed the vicinity.

“Consequently, the kidnappers’ hideout was burst, and they were dislodged, paving the way for the rescue of the victims unhurt.

The Commissioner of Police, CP, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, in a comment, lauded the officers for a job well done and urged them to sustain the onslaught against criminals,” the statement said.
