Man, 28, docked over alleged theft

A 28-year-old man, Toyin Damilola, on Friday appeared in  an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing money meant for fish  and chicken feeds.

Damilola, whose address was not provided, was charged with two counts of stealing by conversion and conduct.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offences on Feb. 25, at a Livestock shop beside De-culture hotel, Parafa area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

He said the money belonged to the complainant, Mrs Oluwafunmilola Lawal.

He said that the defendant also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 168(D) and 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate A.O. Ogbe, granted the defendant N500, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

Ogbe adjourned the case until March 27, for mention.
