I-G redeploys CP for FCT, 2 other states

The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Commissioner of Police (CP) for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Delta and Rivers.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Adejobi, the CP in charge of Rivers, Mr Olatunji Disu, has been redeployed to FCT, while his counterpart in Delta, Mr Abaniwonda Olufemi, replaces him as CP in charge of Rivers.

The spokesperson said the recently deployed CP for the FCT, Mr Peter Opara, would replace Olufemi as the CP in charge of Delta.

He said the I-G had also deployed the CP in charge of Abia, Ebonyi, Akwa-Ibom and Lagos States, following the approval by the Police Service Commission.

“The newly deployed CP are Mr Danladi Nda for Abia; Mr Olanrewaju Olawale for Lagos State; Mr Anthonia Uche-Anya for Ebonyi and Mr Festus Eribo for Akwa-Ibom.

“The postings are true reflections of the mission of the I-G to strategically reposition the Nigeria Police for maximum utilisation of its human resources,” he said.

Adejobi said the I-G enjoined all the new CP to ensure diligence in the discharge of their lawful duties and adopt innovations that would mitigate security challenges in their respective areas of responsibility.
