FRSC redeploys 26 senior officers

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has redeployed two Assistant Corps Marshals, (ACMs) and 24 Corps Commanders (CCs) to key Departments and Corps offices in order to give its operations a boost.

The FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, said this in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Olusegun Ogungbemide, on Saturday in Abuja.

Mohammed said that the redeployment had become necessary towards creating a safer motoring environment.

He said that it was also part of an initiative targeted at ensuring full realisation of the corporate strategic goals of the Corps for the year.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) had earlier approved the appointment of senior officers, Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) Aliyu Datsama, DCM Pauline Olaye and DCM Ahmed Hassan.

“In addition to the above, we approved the redeployment of ACM Dr Godwin Omiko, the erstwhile ACM Motor Vehicle Administration Department.

“Omiko is to head the Project Implementation Office, as ACM in charge of Corps Safety Engineering Office while ACM Emmanuel Dung is to resume duty as ACM Motor Vehicle Administration at the national headquarters.

“In the same vein, Ekiti, Plateau, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Kano, Minna, Kogi, Bayelsa, Taraba, Jigawa, Osun, Imo and Zamfara states all got new Sector Commanders,” Mohammed said.

The FRSC Corps Marshal also appointed for the first time in the history of the Corps, a female Corps Commander, Ann Oladayo-Odeleye, as Zonal Commanding Officer RS Zone 2 Lagos in acting capacity.

Mohammed said that the new Zonal commanding Officer would be covering the general operation area of Lagos and Ogun States respectively.

He expressed confidence in the capacity and experiences of the newly redeployed senior officers to deliver on mandate, as he charged them to bring in their professional expertise for impactful leadership.

“The redeployment is with immediate effect,” he said.
