FRSC calls for caution as truck crushes woman in Niger

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Niger on Tuesday urged motorists drive carefully in the metropolis to avoid unwanted accidents.

Mr Kumar Tsukwam, Sector Commander of FRSC, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that a woman that was crushed by a truck would have been avoided if the parties had been careful.

He said the accident occurred on Feb. 9 at the Saint John Junction, Bida.

NAN gathered that the victim, identified as Safiya, was on a motorcycle with her husband when the accident occurred.

It was said that the woman fell off the motorcycle when the husband suddenly accosted a truck and swerved to avoid collision with the oncoming truck.

The woman was said to have fell off the motorcycle and she was crushed by the truck driver.

The deceased has been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
