Former Rivers State Commissioner of Police, AIG, Mohammed Mustapha has officially handed over to CP Olubenga Adepoju, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Rivers State.
Mustapha was recently promoted to Assistant Inspection General of Police, AIG, and deployed to Zone 6 Calabar.
AIG Bala speaking during a brief handover ceremony at the Police Officers’ Mess in Port Harcourt, appreciated the officers and men of the Rivers State Police Command and residents of the state for their support and cooperation during his three-month stay as Commissioner of Police in the state
He said the Rivers Police Command during his administration recorded several achievements ranging from crime fighting, peace keeping, human and infrastructural developments in the state.
While speaking, newly deployed CP Olugbenga Adewole assured that his administration would focus on improved security for citizens and businesses in the state.
CP Adewole gave the assurance at his maiden media briefing with his management team at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The new CP outlined his focused areas to include; strengthening intelligence gathering, community policing and public engagement, zero tolerance for corruption, fighting cultism and youth violence, and combating oil theft amongst others.
Cp Adepoju who assumed duty as the 47th commissioner of police in Rivers State thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun and the Police Service Commission for the confidence reposed in him to lead the command.
He promised that his administration would be guided by integrity while harping on collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
