Emir of Katsina urges NSCDC to embrace principles of justice

The Emir of Katsina, Dr Abdulmuminu Kabir-Usman, has urged the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to embrace the principles of justice in discharging its responsibilities.

The emir stated this when he received, on a courtesy visit in his palace on Thursday, the NSCDC Commandant, Mr Aminu Datti.

The traditional leader further emphasised the relevance of safety and security in the state and the country as a whole.

Kabir-Usman enjoined the commandant and his team to prioritise proactive intelligence and secrecy in the service as steps towards guaranteeing the safety and security of the lives and property of the people of the state.

He further urged, “You should embrace the principles of justice, fairness, integrity, discipline, patriotism and God fearing in discharging his responsibilities.”

The emir also stressed the need for a robust synergy among all the security agencies, stating that the Emirate was with them and the non-formal security actors.

Kabir-Usman further prayed for the success of the commandant and wished him God guidance and blessings.

Earlier, Datti had said thelat the visit was to formally introduce himself to the emir, as the new NSCDC Commandant in the state, and also to seek for his blessings.

According to him, the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Mr Ahmed Abubakar-Audi, has the vision to tackle the insecurity in the country.

He underscored the role of the traditional institutions, especially in the maintenance of law and order in the society.

According to him, there is the necessity to promote the existing relationship in order to achieve safety and security in the state.

The commandant thanked the emir for his relentless support to the NSCDC, pledging to collaborate more with the emirate to fulfil the corps’ mandate.

Datti also pledged his unwavering commitment and dedication to repositioning the corps in the state for better performance.

He said the command would always be happy to receive advice, guide and suggestions from the royal father and the members of the traditional councils in order to help the corps to serve the people better.
