The Commander, Infantry Corps(ICC), Nigerian Army(NA), Ma.j-Gen. Abdul Ibrahim, on Saturday vowed 100 per cent loyalty to the Nigerian Army’s Transformation Agenda.
Ibrahim gave the commitment at Jaji Military Cantonment End- Of- –Year 2024 West African Social Activities(WASA), in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commander was represented by the Commandant, Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre,( MLAILPKC ), Maj.-Gen. Adedamola Adedoja.
He said, “On our part, we collectively pledge our 100 per cent loyalty to the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, command’s philosophy.
Ivrahim also promised to key into the COAS’s vision, which was premised on consolidating the transforming of the Nigerian Army.
According to him, this is to bequeath a well-motivated and combat -ready force that can effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment’.
“As Commander, Infantry Corps, I will push the Infantry formations and Units to work collectively and professionally.
”This is to tackle the current security challenges while providing innovative and mission-oriented training to enable us attain the end state of a peaceful and secured country, “he said.
Ibrahim appreciated the COAS for the ongoing landmark projects in the cantonment.
He listed them to include the construction of a new modern Command Secondary School, a new Infantry
Officers’ Mess, Officers’ Kitchen/Dining. Hall and 37 blocks of accommodation for soldiers. among others.
Ibrahim said, “The Year 2024 WASA was packaged with colourful and entertaining dances, displays and local dishes from different parts of Nigeria prepared by our families.”
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour, retired Maj.-Gen. Ahmad Mohammed, felicitated cantonment’s community on the occasion.
According to him, the age-long military tradition brings them together to celebrate their cultural diversity and showcase the rich heritage of the nation.
“The brilliant displays by the cultural troupes are a testament to our commitment to promoting cultural harmony, team spirit, and tolerance among military personnel.
.”I commend you all for your discipline and dedication to duty throughout the year, “he said.
Mohammed commended the chief of army staff’s resolve to reposition the Nigerian Army as a reputable military force globally.
“I urge you all to play your roles in achieving this vision, upholding the Nigerian Army’s core values of loyalty, self-service, courage, discipline, integrity, and respect for others.
“As we commence another training and administrative year, I implore you to remain focused and resilient.
”Avoid actions that may compromise your ability to discharge your duties professionally.
“This is direly needed especially now that the Nigerian Army is engaged in several operational tasks which are under the observation and scrutiny of the global security community, “Mohammed said.
He appreciated the commander, the officers and soldiers for their selflessness, hard work and dedication to duty.
