CHANGE OF COMMAND AT 6 DIVISION GARRISON, AS BRIGADIER GENERAL SANI AHMED ASSUMES COMMAND

The history has been made again at 6 Division Garrison Nigerian Army as the newly appointed Commander 6 Division Garrison and Commander Sector 3 Joint Task Force South South Operation Delta Safe (JTF SS OPDS), Brigadier General Sani Ahmed assumed command today, 15 August 2024 at the Headquarters 6 Division Garrison, Port Harcourt Barracks, Rivers State.

While delivering his address at Garrison MT Yard to Officers and Soldiers of 6 Division Garrison, Brigadier General Eu Effiong eulogised the officers and soldiers of the Garrison for their unalloyed cooperation and support during his tenure, charging them to remain committed and disciplined. The former Commander 6 Div Garrison said the Garrison’s Area of Responsibilities (AOR) are not strange to his successor as a one time Commander Sector 1. He therefore expressed confidence in his capability to take the Garrison to a greater height. He described his successor as a reliable Infantry General with impeccable character that speaks volume.

Earlier in his remarks, the new Commander 6 Div Garrison and Commander Sector 3 JTF SS OPDS, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed commended his predecessor for successful track record, while seeking his continuous guidance. He expressed his willingness to work with all officers and soldiers towards lasting peace and stability within the Garrison’s AOR.

Brigadier General Ahmed further wished his predecessor successful tour of duty in his new office. Until his appointment as the Commander 6 Division Garrison and Commander Sector 3 JTF SS OPDS, he was the Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, Gusua.

Highlight of the event were signing of the Handing and Taking over notes, Handing over of Command Flag and Quarter guard parade.
