Be cautious, report strange movements to security agents — NSCDC advises

Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo State, has admonished citizens to report any strange movement to security agents for prompt action.

Ibiloye made this known in his Easter message, which was made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Akure by the command’s spokesperson, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor.

The commandant said all area commanders were directed to provide adequate security to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure within their domain.

Ibiloye also said personnel had been deployed to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration across the state.

According to him, the personnel will focus on worship centres to avoid security breaches.

“Among those deployed are Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Rapid Response Squad, Commandant Tactical Team, Chemical Biological Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE).

“Other units deployed are Agro Rangers Unit, and Intelligence & Surveillance teams.

“We felicitate with the Christian communities on the Easter festivity, marking the end of the lent period and the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus christ.

“Security is a collective responsibility. Report any strange movement in your community to the nearest security agencies for prompt action,” he said.

The commandant admonished people to place importance on their personal security, while urging parents and guardians to keep a close watch on their children and wards during the holiday.
