Man, 35, docked over alleged threat to life 

A 35-year old man, Tunde Adewunmi, was on Monday, arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court, Ogun, over alleged threat to kill a man.

Adewunmi, whose address was not provided, is being charged with threat to life, conspiracy and breach of peace to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences at about 1.00p.m on Aug. 26, 2024, at Idimu, Ota.

Adaraloye said that Adewunmi and others now at large , threatened to kill the complainant, Lukmon Olatunji with a broken bottle.

“They conspired to conduct themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace,” he said.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 86, 249(D) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum.

Fadairo said that the surety who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, should be gainfully employed, and must present evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.

She adjourned the case until March 4, for further hearing
