An Anti-Corruption group Global Peace Movement International, UK, passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, led by Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede.
In a press statement on Saturday in Benin, President General of the group, Dr Mike Uyi said that the move was an effort to appreciate Olukoyode’s genuine desire to transform the Commission which, he said, has recorded unprecedented successes.
GPMI’s vote of confidence is as a result of the recent dismissal of twenty seven (27) corrupt officers from its workforce, describing it as a significant milestone in the fight against graft, saying charity begins from home.
Describing the development as a milestone in the fight against corruption, Uyi said that Olukoyode’s zeal and passion for his job to stamp out corruption is unrivaled.
The statement further added that Olukoyode and the commission’s action is a clear message that there is hope for Nigeria.
“All Nigerians, irrespective of class, religion, and ethnic backgrounds, to join hands with the relevant authorities to curb the infectious menace of corruption that has enveloped and weakened the foundation of Nigeria”.
