Nigeria Police Arrest Lagos School Teacher Assaulting Three-Year-Old Pupil In Viral Video

Stella Nwadigo, a classroom teacher at Christ-Mitots School, Isawo Road, Ikorodu, Lagos state, has been arrested after a video emerged showing her repeatedly hitting a three-year-old pupil during a lesson.

The incident, which surfaced on Wednesday, has drawn widespread condemnation online and offline.

The two-minute clip captured the teacher striking the child five times while teaching numbers 61 and 62.

An X user Mr Xperience said, “She’s not even remorseful one bit. I hate when they just arrest them like that without any form of torture and headbutts.”

Another user MarketerKazeem wrote, “That was so swift. She doesn’t know what’s going on yet until they sentence her because they will remand her straight. Una do well Social media people.”

The pupil, whose identity remains unknow, was visibly distressed as the teacher punctuated her instructions with physical punishment.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, confirmed the development, on Wednesday afternoon, stating, “Thank you for the update. She is currently in our custody for further necessary actions.”

The arrest comes amid growing public outcry over the treatment of children in educational institutions.

Many are calling for stricter regulations and monitoring to prevent such incidents.

Chidera said, “She deserves at least one year in jail or she will pay for it.

“If na so all of us learn by now our ears for Don lock now.”
