Police hunt kidnappers of two Adamawa pastors

The Adamawa State Police Command has dispatched the Quick Response Squad to rescue two pastors kidnapped on Monday in the Fufore Local Government Area of the state.

The kidnapped pastors are Ishaku D. Chiwar and Reverend James Kwayam of the EYN Church, Billa Malabu.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroji, told our correspondent on Monday that the incident occurred at Billa Malabu in Fufore LGA.

He pointed out that the kidnappers targeted the house of the victims situated at Hayin Gada, Billa village, Malabu District.

The kidnappers, who were armed with offensive weapons, invaded the victims’ houses around 2:00 am and whisked them away.

On the strength of that, the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, deployed the command’s operational and manpower assets to give a hot chase to the kidnappers, rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.”

He added, “The command’s progressive efforts will definitely bring the perpetrators and other persons involved to justice, emphasising the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and resisting all forms of violent crimes in the state.”

Nguroji stated that the unprovoked kidnapping of the two religious leaders was unacceptable as they are critical stakeholders in the policing service.

The command appealed for calm and urged the public to support the police with credible information that could lead to the rescue of the kidnapped pastors.
