Fire destroys multi-million naira properties at ibadan spare parts market

A devastating fire has razed multi-million naira worth of properties at the Araromi spare parts market, Agodi-Gate, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Nation gathered that the inferno, which reportedly started around 2 a.m., has left traders counting their losses.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, as investigations are ongoing.

The incident occurred less than 12 hours after another tragic fire claimed the lives of a man, his wife, and their grandson in a storey building in the Ori-Eru area of Idikan, Ibadan.

Confirming the earlier incident, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Yemi Akinyinka, revealed in a statement that his team received a distress call about the residential fire at approximately 3:46 p.m.

Akinyinka assured the public that efforts are underway to uncover the causes of both fires and implement measures to prevent further tragedies in the city.
