The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Thursday decorated 30 newly promoted personnel with their new ranks in Plateau.
Decorating the personnel in Jos, Mr Yusuf Harunna, the Jos Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO), said that the promoted personnel were beneficiaries of the ongoing transformation in the corps.
He explained that the decorated personnel were beneficiaries of the recent harmonisation of cadre within the corps.
“This promotion is special and unique, it is the first of its kind in the history of the corps.
“Promotions in the past have been from one rank to another, but this time around, it is from marsh to officer cadre.
“These 30 personnel we are decorating today are a product of the commitment of our Corps Marshall, Mr Shehu Mohammed, to improve the welfare of personnel.
“It is part of the corps marshal’s policy thrust aimed at ensuring a more motivated and productive personnel,” he said
Harunna, however, called on the decorated personnel to see their elevation as an opportunity to be more committed to their duties, insisting that the “reward for hardwork is more work”
Earlier, Mr Maxwell Lede, the Sector Commander of the corps in Plateau, thanked the corps marshal for prioritising the welfare of personnel.
Lede, who described the move as a “transformative strategy”, maintained that it would enhance productivity and ensure an environment where personnel would thrive.
He said that the 30 decorated personnel were those in the Jos zonal headquarters of the corps, Plateau sector command, Bukuru, Hawan-Kibo and Bauchi Bye-pass unit commands.
