Idris Bande, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Adamawa, has reiterated the corps’ commitment towards tackling public assets vandalism in the state.
Bande who made the statement on Friday in Yola while parading 12 suspected vandals, said that NSCDC was committed to ridding the state of criminals.
“Adamawa will no longer serve as a haven for criminals. Under my watch, it will no longer be business as usual for vandals and criminal scavengers.
“Those engaging in such activities should either repent or relocate. This state will remain intolerant to criminal behaviours,” he said.
The commandant further said that NSCDC was fully committed to protecting public and private assets located in the state.
“We are fully committed to protecting federal and state assets, we are also poised to bringing criminals before the law at all times,” he said.
Bande commended Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, for his zero-tolerance policy towards vandalism, describing it as ‘the way to go’
He said that the governor’s position aligned with the directive of Dr Ahmed Audi, NSCDC Commandant-General, which urged personnel to prioritise the protection of critical national assets.
Bande said that NSCDC personnel in Adamawa were totally committed to their duty of fighting economic sabotage and vandalism.
He urged members of the public to partner the corps by providing useful intelligence towards tracking down criminals and those involved in public assets vandalism.
