Police confirm abduction of man, daughter in Katsina State

Police in Katsina State have confirmed the abduction of one Mansir Yusuf and her daughter from Yantumaki town in Danmusa local government area which led to protests by some youths in the area.

Confirming the incident in a statement, the Command Public Relations Officer SP Gambo Isah said, they are monitoring the situation as men of the command are firmly on the ground controlling the situation to ensure that the protesters do not take the law into their hands.

According to Isah, who did not give details of what actually transpired, the timely deployment of men of the command is to ensure that miscreants do not take advantage of the situation and start looting or burning people’s property

The statement added that, the command and indeed other security agencies are not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that those responsible for the two recent crimes of the murder of the district head of Atiku Abubakar and the abductions, are brought to book.

The police image maker also said, the Commissioner of Police Sanusi Buba, has detailed area commander in Dutsinma to relocate to Yantumaki as more senior officers are deployed in the area to take care of the situation.

Recall that hundreds of youths in the early hours of Tuesday took to the ever busy Kankara-Katsina road protesting the increasing rate of insecurity in the area calling for prompt action by the security agencies.
