CCD Holds Online Capacity Training Building on Tracking Covid-19 Pendamic Palletives for PWDs

A front line NGO in the Scrap-C project for the upright4Nigeria Campaign ,The Centre for Citizens with disabilities (CCD), Holds An Online meeting .

The online meeting was basically to train sign Language interpreters who will carry out a survey on the level of inclusion of persons living with disabilities in the sharing of Palletives .

The Executive Director ,Anthony Obinna in his opening remarks say as an NGO one of the primary assignment was to demand accountability and also defend the right of people with disabilities.

Speaking with the press, An Official of CCD Musa Aboro told press via online interview ,that the choice for the sign language interpreters was to enable a free flow of communication for the blind,,the deaf and persons with disabilities.

In his words ” a signed language interpreter can communicate with the deaf and the blind but one who isn’t train in that can’t ,and that may result to difficulty in carrying out the survey ”

“The primary aim of the survey is to ascertain ,the level of information available for the PWDs on the fight against corruption, to find out the machinery put in place to accommodate the PWDs, benefits available for PWDs and to also get detailed information about the donations made to Person living with disabilities.

The survey will cover all the 6 States of the Upright for Nigeria Campaign and each local government from the six states had a representative in the online meeting.

The online training was group in to two section, the first section had Lagos State, Enugu State and Akwa Ibom .

While the second Training was for participants from Kano State, Kaduna State and by extension Jigawa state.
