VP Osinbajo Speaks On FG Plan To Expand NPower Programme

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo stated in a virtual conversation shown on channelstv news yesterday 5th June 2020 that the NPower programme will be expanded to accommodate more Nigeria youths.

According to the VP, this is in accordance with president Buhari effort of taking 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years.

The Ministry of humanitarian affairs Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq also disclosed to newsmen a week ago that the ministry is going to streamline the NPower scheme to recruit more volunteers into the programme.

The Ministry has previously stated also that the veteran Npower volunteers will be transitioning into sustainable ventures to enable new recruitment. We hope that permanent job will be provided to the veteran NPower volunteers so that they won’t go back to the street because Covid-19 has rendered a lot of Nigerian jobless already. Sending them back to the street without anything to fall back on, will be a disaster.
